Reported by Eric Wood at Gigg Lane

The Shakers named just one changed to the side that defeated Shrewsbury a week ago. Richie Baker came off the bench to take the place of Paul Scott, so Ben Futcher was handed to captain's armband. Paul Morgan took Richie Baker's place on the bench after being out with an injury since December.

It only took The Shakers 3 minutes to have their first attempt on goal when Andy Bishop made a superb glancing header towards goal which had keeper Russell Hoult glued to the spot. However, the ball went just inches wide of the left hand post. On 8 minutes Bury were back on the attack when Nicky Adams played in a good ball into the penalty area from the left hand side looking for Adam Rooney, but keeper Russell Hoult was quick off his line to claim possession. On 17 minutes Bury were on the attack again when Adam Rooney fired a superb effort at goal which had to be tipped behind by keeper Russell Hoult for a corner. The Notts County defence tried to clear the ball away from the resulting corner, but Adam Rooney managed to find a gap in the defence to fire the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.

After Bury took the lead, the game began to take a slower tempo and neither side really had an attempt on goal for the rest of the half.

Halftime: Bury 1-0 Notts County

On 58 minutes Bury had the first chance of the second half when Nicky Adams went for goal from way outside the penalty area, but the ball went wide of the left hand post. After 71 minutes the away side got the equaliser with their first shot on goal when Danny Crow broke away into a one-on-one with keeper Darren Randolph. Crow fired a powerful low drive at goal which despite Randolph's efforts rolled into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.

After 82 minutes Bury nearly regained the lead when a Nicky Adams corner from the right hand side was punched clear by County keeper Russell Hoult. However, Richie Baker managed to win the ball on the edge of the area and fired a powerful shot towards goal, but the ball went just over the crossbar. With just 5 minutes left The Shakers regained their lead when Richie Baker did superbly well to stay on his feet after several challenges and knocked the ball into the six yard box. Keeper Russell Hoult tried to claim the ball, but Glynn Hurst managed to force the ball over the line to score against his former club.
