Bury vs. Lincoln City - Reported by Hannah Ingram at Gigg Lane
After picking up another three points on the road at Port Vale last week, Bury returned to Gigg Lane to sort out the business at home. The Shakers hadn't chalked up a win at home so far this season, let alone a goal, so today's game with Lincoln was the perfect opportunity to lift the cloud. The Imps have had a similar start to the season, with the same amount of points as Bury going into this game. Lincoln have proved to be a strong, battling team in the past however, and could prove to be a stern test for the Bury boys.
Some early pressure from Bury on four minutes saw Aaron Brown gave the Lincoln keeper Rob Burch some work to do with a tricky backpass after Jones piled on the pressure following a long ball forward. After winning a free kick on eight minutes, Baker sent in a low ball quickly to Jones, but his first touch saw the ball loop forward of himself, and was cleared by the Lincoln backline. Dawson won the Shakers a corner on 10 minutes, which was taken from the right by BBM. After missing the head of Sodje, it fell to Baker on the right of the box, who crossed the ball for Bishop, only to see his skimmed header fall into the arms of Burch
Torres tried his luck with a long range effort on 15 minutes but Brown was positioned well to gather the ball. Tom Newey went for the long range attempt himself on 22 minutes, powering a low drive goal bound. Rob Burch got down well to block, and Jones' strike on the rebound was blocked by the Lincoln defence. A perfect cross-field from Jones on 25 minutes was to the feet of Lowe, who then cut inside the box and struck from the left of the box. Burch was again on form to block the shot, with no Bury players following up the wayward rebound.
The first half continued with most of it being dedicated to both teams trying to get a foothold in the game. Some fancy footwork from Baker and Bishop on 41 minutes looked to set up Tom Newey with agolden chance in the box, but his shot from an acute angle was blocked. Dawson showed his fighting spirit towards the close of the first half, claiming the ball in midfield and crossing for Baker. The resulting attack saw Tom Newey with yet another long range chance, but he sent it well over the bar.
One minute of additional time was indicated by the fourth official as Wayne Brown kicked the ball back into play from a free kick. The half was soon over, and whilst the Bury boys retired to the changing rooms, Oscar-winning Danny Boyle took to the field for the half-time draw!

Both sides returned to the field with no substitutions made. Baker was handed a goal-scoring opportunity on 52 minutes after a cross from Lowe, but his low drive from the edge of the box was blocked by the Lincoln defence. A cross from Bishop on 57 minutes was crying out for a close range header to break the Gigg Lane goal drought, but Futcher headed the ball across the goal and not in the back of it.
Substitution for Lincoln City on 59 minutes - Stefan Oakes on for Shane Clarke
Double substitution for Bury on 59 minutes - David Worrall on for Richie Baker, Tom Elliot on for Andy Bishop
Tom Elliot wasted no time after coming on the pitch, battling hard to win a free kick on 63 minutes. Jones sent in a curling ball, aimed for the head of Sodje at the far post who seemed to have his header cleared off the line by Kovacs, but the linesman had already determined that Sodje was offside. Fagan made space well in the Bury box moments later, testing Brown with a close-range effort.
Substitution for Lincoln on 66 minutes - Andy Hutchinson on for Chris Fagan
Lowe was left almost one on one with the goalkeeper on 67 minutes, and with plenty of time to shoot, he sent his curling shot to the right of the post.
Yellow card for Lincoln City on 70 minutes - Janos Kovacs
A cross from Worrall on 72 minutes seemed to have set Tom Elliot up in front of goal before it was cleared by Lincoln.
Yellow card for Lincoln City on 75 minutes - Ciaran Hughton
Sodje went on a run forward on 78 minutes, crossing the ball for Jones on the left hand side; Jones made his way into the box before teeing up a confident shot, but Burch dived to his left to block.
GOAL! The goal-void at Gigg Lane came to an end in fantastic fashion on 85 minutes. David Worrall wormed his way into the box, beating one man and then another, before passing to the unmarked Ryan Lowe, who powered a drive straight into the net, beating Rob Burch, and sending the home fans wild!

Three minutes of added time were indicated by the fourth official as Tom Elliot lay on the deck in pain after a challenge from Kovacs.
GOAL! Bury extended their lead in the dying seconds of the game, after Lowe passed to Worrall on the right, who then crossed the ball for Elliot to head, but the ball was cleared. However, Worrall picked the ball back up and sent the ball flying into the net to make a good day at the office a great one for the Shakers.

The re-start proved to be the final touch of the game, with the referee calling time on an extraordinary final moments of the game. Bury had pressed much more in the second half, and got their reward - eventually! After weeks of no goals and no points at Gigg Lane, two goals and three points arrive in the final five minutes of the match. It's been a while since such an exhilarating finale on home turf, but all in good time! The Shakers have a long trip to Torquay next week, and here's hoping for three more points on the very long road down south.
