Bury vs Shrewsbury - Reported by Hannah Ingram at Gigg Lane
After their winning streak came to an end last week at Chesterfield, Bury returned to home turf to face another in-form team in the shape of Shrewsbury. The Shrews had recently signed Jamie Cureton from Norwich on loan and looked to continue their play off push whilst the Shakers wanted to stay in the top three after stopping short at Chesterfield and taking nothing home.
Bury started brightly with an early chance on four minutes falling to Lowe just inside the box. Morrell seemed to call for the shot which left Lowe confused as to what to do with the ball, and Button came out and collected. A dangerous cross from BBM on 7 minutes set up Morrell on the right of the box, and with his first touch at the far post he forced a save from Button to claim a corner.
Yellow card for Shrewsbury on 12 minutes - Terry Dunfield
Futcher hit the bar with a headed effort on 13 minutes following a cross from Jones on the left after he picked up the loose ball after a corner. Two minutes later and Worrall sent a low cross into the box from the right which McIntyre almost put into his own net.
In a half dominated by the home side, Bury's next chance arrived on 35 minutes as BBM took a free kick from the left hand side. He found Futcher at the far post who headed the ball across the goalmouth which forced Dunfield to clear the danger.

Worrall broke clear in midfield after collecting the ball and formed a counter attack for Bury on 37 minutes. Looking for Lowe on the left, his cross was intercepted and cleared. Moments later and Lowe was challenging Button for the ball on the edge of the box after a tricky bounce. Lowe ended up lobbing the ball over Button and it looked to be a goal before it was cleared off the line by Hibbert.
Two minutes of added time were indicated by the fourth official but time was soon called on a one-sided first period of play. Bury had created enough chances to take a lead into the break but it wasn't to be.

Jones latched onto a loose ball that had trickled along the box on 56 minutes from the right, but with time to tee up a shot, he put the ball over the bar.

GOAL! Bury took the lead on 70 minutes after Stephen Dawson was brought down in the box as he made his way down the left. The ref pointed to the spot, and up stepped Ryan Lowe who dutifully slotted the ball past Button after sending him the wrong way.

Bishop also could've doubled Bury's lead with two minutes of time remaining after latching onto a looping ball forward from BBM, but saw his shot from the right of the box saved by Button.
Steve Leslie had Shrewsbury's only other chance on goal in the dying seconds of the match, when his long range effort seemed to catch Brown off guard and force a reaction save from the Bury keeper to his left.
