On a bitterly cold afternoon in East London the Shakers set about Dagenham though it was the host's that.A good long ball forward from Buchanan found an excellent flick from Morrell to find Nardiello, his quick ball forward released David Worrall who took the ball to the corner of the box, but his little back heel to Tom Newey didn't quite come off and Dagenham cleared.
A superb Wayne Brown clearance under pressure found David Worrall who controlled superbly, a rasping challenge from Nana though had the ball out for a throw. The resulting throw found Nardiello who was quickly surrounded by three defenders inside the area, before they managed to get the ball clear.
Dagenham surged forward on 16 minutes with Nana taking the ball own the wing, his driven cross into the box though was well held by Brown and again he quickly cleared though Nardiello was flagged offside..
A comedy of errors brought the first goal of the game.A good ball into the box from Jon Nurse fell kindly to Sodje, his clearance hit the back of Tom Newey, and the ball flew to Benson who had the easiest of tasks in putting the ball across Wayne Brown and into the corner for probably his easiest goal of the season.
Goal:Dagenham & Redbridge 1 Bury 0 (Benson17)
Jon Nurse had a good chance some four minutes later, a whipped free kick in to the box found Nurse with acres to spare, he had the time to bring the ball down and volley at goal but thankfully Futcher headed the ball clear.
A challenge on Stephen Dawson on 31 minutes saw the Bury skipper hobbling away for treatment, Danny Racchi's delivery wasn't the best and the home defence pushed the ball far down the field.
Dagenham's Jon Nurse got himself booked for a blatant elbow on Sodje on 32 minutes, after a spell of treatment on a blood wound, Sodje got back on the pitch just as Dagenham took a corner.Morrell headed the ball clear but the second ball into the box found Mark Arber, his header found the back of the net but his effort was ruled out for the foul on Wayne Brown.
Danny Nardiello should have equalised on 43 minutes when he played a superb 1-2 with Morrell inside the Dagenham box.Morrell's return found Nardiello with the simplest of task's on goal, but somehow he managed to push the ball wide of the target and out for a goal kick with half of the Bury fans celebrating a goal.
Danny Racchi took Bury's corner on 46 minutes, his whipped ball to the near post found Danny Nardiello who glanced the ball home from close range to bring it all square.

Moments later a Mike Jones short corner again found the head of Nardiello, this time he peeled off his marker and found the crossbar with a good header. As he stood in agony knowing a good chance had gone, Dagenham quickly got the ball forward.Benson took the final touch it hit the post and fell kindly for Brown.Brown's quick release down the field - a route one clearance, found Morrell through on goal but all he could do was lift the ball onto the foot of the net.
Sodje found himself under pressure moments later and delivered a fast ball back to Wayne Brown. The pace of the ball took it away from Brown and Futcher had to react quickly to clear the ball as Scott bore in on the open goal.
In a game of end to end football and chances, quality and pace, the second Dagenham goal was something of a lucky affair.A Josh Scott cross ping ponged through a packed Bury box before Benson stuck his little toe onto the ball to stab over the line for the lead.
