MK Dons v Bury Media Watch
MK Dons 1-2 Bury - Milton Keynes Citizen
SUBSTITUTE Andy Bishop's second half brace condemned Paul Ince's new-look MK Dons to defeat in their first league game at stadium:mk on Saturday.
Skipper Keith Andrews' early goal had given MK the lead but Bishop struck either side of Dons defender Drissa Diallo's straight red card to ensure Ince's reign got off to the worst possible start.
The Dons dominated early on with some neat passing football and Andrews deservedly put them ahead in the 20th minute.
MK skipper Andrews raced onto Kevin Gallen's knock-down and belted a swerving 22-yard half-volley past flat-footed Bury goalkeeper Jim Provett and into the corner of the net.
Jon-Paul McGovern's almost doubled the Dons' lead six minutes later but his well-flighted 23-yard free-kick curled just past the post and into the side netting.
Bury battled back and Paul Scott looped a 10-yard header just over the bar before Glynn Hurst missed two good chances, first blasting wide off-balance from close range and then firing tamely at Dons' new keeper Willy Gueret when well placed 16 yards out.
Yet the Dons continued to press and Andrews' 35-yard thunderbolt was saved low by the diving Provett before Leon Knight poorly curled straight at the Shakers' keeper one-on-one from Gallen's clever 36th minute through ball.
But Bury burst out of the blocks after the break and substitute Bishop equalised in the 51st minute, just minutes after he had been denied one-on-one by Gueret.
The Dons' defence failed to clear Nicky Adams' low cross and Bishop seized upon their hesitancy to tuck the loose ball low past new MK goalkeeper Willy Gueret from close range.
And then Bishop's cool 57th minute penalty turned the game on its head and put the Shakers 2-1 up.
Bishop sent Gueret the wrong way from the spot after Dons defender Diallo had been shown a straight red card for elbowing Ben Futcher in the box.
Milton Keynes' 10-men toiled hard late on in search of an equaliser but they rarely threatened as Bury stood firm to record a battling comeback win.

Diallo disaster downs Dons - Milton Keynes News
Two goals from Bury substitute Andy Bishop and a red card for Drissa Diallo saw MK Dons suffer a 2-1 defeat, at home, on the opening day of the season.
It was a nightmare second half for the Dons, who were leading through Keith Andrews strike In the 20th minute, as Bishop pulled the scores level before Diallo conceded a penalty and saw red for an elbow on Ben Futcher.
Before kick-off Dons manager Paul Ince had the good news of confirming the late signings of goalkeepers Willy Gueret, who made his official debut in goal, and Nathan Abbey. Midfielders Alan Navarro and Luke Howell also penned deals with the club.
From the start the Dons were comfortable on the ball as they looked to control the game in the middle of the field, but Bury showed they would not roll over, with several threatening breaks.
It took twenty minutes for the first goal to come, with Andrews the man to get his name on the score sheet.
The Dons skipper collected Kevin Gallen's ball and the midfielder released a swerving effort, from the edge of the box, which Jim Provett watched fly past him into the net.
Just minutes later Leon Knight could have doubled the lead when he pounced on a loose ball, but his attempt at goal was quickly charged down.
The home side continued to have chances with Andrews' low drive testing Provett and Knight proving a handful for the Shakers defence.
At the other end Gueret was also tested with close range shot and just minutes later Richard Baker thought he had a shout for a penalty when he was challenged in the box by the Dons' keeper.
The Shakers stepped up in the second half, with Bishop going close to equalising. After controlling a tricky ball, he dragged his effort across goal only for Gueret to push the ball out for a corner.
Lloyd Dyer replied with a sparkling run from his own half, down the left and with only eyes for goal, the pacey winger fired straight at Provett.
Just six minutes into the second half Bishop grabbed the leveller as he eased past three Dons players and squeezed the ball into the left corner.
It all turned sour for the Dons in the 56th minute when Diallo was sent to the changing rooms and Bishop added further to the Dons' misery as his spot kick slammed into the centre of the net to make the score 2-1.
With the Shakers having a one man advantage, the Dons' attacking chances were limited and they never fully recovered from Diallo's dismissal.
Aaron Wilbraham had a late chance, but his lack of match fitness was evident as he blasted high.
The Dons will now have to re-gather as they look ahead to Tuesday night's Carling Cup tie against Championship side Ipswich Town.

MK Dons 1 Bury 2 - Manchester Evening News
Super sub Andy Bishop fired Bury to an unlikely opening day victory at League Two promotion favourites Milton Keynes.
Last season's leading scorer was introduced as a second-half substitute for debutant Marcus Richardson.
And within 13 minutes the former York City marksman turned the contest Bury's way.
Bishop, with only two warm-up appearances under his belt during pre-season, cancelled out the Dons' 21st minute opener from Keith Andrews.
And as he did against the same opposition last term Bishop drilled home a 58th minute penalty to earn the Shakers three excellent points.
Milton Keynes, playing at their new home and with ex-Macclesfield boss Paul Ince in charge, finished with 10 men after Drissa Diallo was red carded in the final minutes.
This was just the start manager Chris Casper hoped for and provided they can keep hold of Bishop, Bury may emerge as surprise contenders this season.
