The Chesterfield View
Bury were 10/3 to win the game
To win the 3-1, Bury were availble at 40/1
Lloyd Kerry scored a consolation goal as Bury ran out deserved winners against a some what lacklustre Spireites at Saltergate.
Lee Richardson brought in Darren Currie for his full debut and new loan keeper Trevor Carson came on to the bench for Dan Whatsize. The Shakers started brightly and if you can take a deserved lead after only three minutes Bury did. Referee Webster gave the Shakers a free kick on the Bury left which was knocked towards the Kop goal and headed back into the danger area by Efe Sodje's for Ben Futcher on the edge of the six yard box. Futcher stuck out a long leg and looped the ball over his head and gave keeper Tommy Lee no chance as it flew into the top right hand corner of the goal.
The Spireites never really got going and hardly got into the Bury half in the openingquarter and things went from bad to worse on sixteen minutes. Talismanic striker Jack Lester left the field with a thigh strain picked up in the warm up to be replaced by Gregor Robertson. Robertson went to the left of midfield and Currie switched to partner Jamie Ward.

Lee Richardson's Verdict
We were shell shocked there was no other way to describe it.
There was no way we should have been 3-0 down against a competent Bury side. They put us under pressure by simply putting the ball into our final third and we didn't deal with it at all.
Credit to Bury for putting us under pressure but we failed to win the first and second ball. Most people will pick up on the soft goals and the two centre halves will come under scrutiny. They were simply on the front foot and they put us under pressure and they created chances which they took.
It took the half time chat to get us to put them under pressure in their final third and we got a goal early which finally gave us a foothold in the game."
On Jack Lester's injury Lee revealed that Jack picked up a thigh muscle strain and could now be out for up to three weeks.
"Jack felt something in the warm up and it was clear after ten minutes that he wouldn't be able to continue. Losing our main striker threat gave them a lift and everyone is then on a downer, especially after the second goal.
