Blues boss Paul Lambert was full of praise for his side as they brushed aside Bury at Adams Park.
"I thought we dominated the game from start to finish, and really deserved it," he told the watching press conference.
"I think we could have had three or four in the end - they might think they could have had a penalty, but then in my opinion we could have had one or two so it evens itself out. I thought the referee did well."
Many fans have been commenting on the apparent hangover Wycombe have suffered from the end of the last campaign. However the manager is convinced that it has had no effect on his current squad, and this promising display at Adams Park seems to back up his claims.
"Most of the lads in the dressing room no nothing about last year - it means nothing to them. All they're interested in is putting in the performances out on the pitch this season," he said.
Tom Williams and man of the match Sergio Torres enthraled on lookers at times with their attacking flair, something that did not pass Paul by.
"Tom put in a terrific performance today, with some great crosses. He can play anywhere down that left side and perform very comfortably. Sergio was outstanding today. If you picked someone to score a header out of all the boys it wouldn't be him!"
"Sergio was outstanding today. If you picked someone to score a header out of all the boys it wouldn't be him! But it was a great goal from a really talented footaballer."
Just like the Dagenham game, the 'gaffer's' substitutions made a real impact - with Stefan Oakes and John Sutton both making immediate impressions. This squad depth is certaintly a noticeable aspect of the Wycombe side, and something which can only bring promise for the remainder of the season.
"You make changes and you have to hope they pay off. Oakes has a left foot which in my opinion is the best in our league and he did well today, as did John (Sutto also made an impact. You have to remember that the players who come off have also contributed massivley. I thought Scott (Mcgleish) was great.
"It's going to be a long hard season, now we've had the same start as we did last year I think I have a great squad - which will make a real difference. I'm a great believer in not changing a team that is playing at the top of their game, but there's a long way to go we'll see."
