"I've had a really good summer and I took the first month off with complete rest.  I got back into it about three weeks ago with a fitness coach so that I could start getting fit and see how my injuries were.  Thankfully they've completely cleared up and I feel really good."

"Its massive coming back for pre-season injury free, especially after last season.  The worst part about last season was that it only needed two or three weeks rest and I would have been fit, but the way it was last year, where we were struggling for a lot of the time.  I needed to play and it just aggravated it all the time."

"Looking back, it was worth doing because we stayed up and I think I contributed enough to help us do that. Scoring those two goals at MK Dons in the first game didn't help, but I've said it before, I shouldn't have even travelled for that game, let alone be on the bench.  Without those three points though, it might have been a different end to the season."

"I'm looking forward to the start of the season, it's probably the first time in two years that I have felt completely fully fit. So far I've got through training without a problem, so hopefully it will be a good start to the season."

"I need something like 23 or 24 goals for 100 goals in four seasons, it was around 70 in the last three seasons so it's not too bad and hopefully I'll pass that landmark this season.  My game is scoring goals and I know I get moaned at for being lazy some of the time, but if I'm scoring goals then so be it, I do think I contribute in other ways, but scoring goals is my game."

"Pre season has gone well so far, we've worked quite hard but it's been very well structured and it's been a lot more professional this year with heart rate monitors and the way the sessions have been structured. Your working hard for so long and getting some rest in before you go into another hard session.  It's been good and the lads will defiantly be fit."

"I have enjoyed it and it's just nice to be fit, injury free and getting back into it.  The running has been ok, but ask me next week and I might be sick of it."

"I've not set a target, I'll just score goals and see what happens.  The first game is a tough game, but it's just nice to be at home for a change.  The last two years it was MK Dons away, that was a long journey but it's nice to start at home.  We need to start with a good run and it should be a decent season."

"You just take every game as it comes, I'm just glad it's come around again."
