"Pre season has been difficult, but you always expect that.  There's been no surprises and it's been a really tough week.  As soon as the week comes to an end the better.  It's got to be done and there's no easy thing in pre-season training, we all moan about it but we all know that it's got to be done."

"We've all been wearing the heart monitors.  There's no hiding place with these monitors, you have to work your maximum but to be honest - you always give your maximum anyway."

"It was a quiet summer and it was nice to get the rest and recharge the batteries, but it's good to be back, there's only so much sitting around that you can do and we are all looking forward to the new season."

"Efe came back on Thursday and he's missed all the hard work, he's timed it quite well but it's good to have him around the place.  He's a decent character to have about.  People have said that he's brought my game on, I don't know about that.  We do play well together and we struck up a good partnership.  It's always easier to play when the team is winning.  It goes hand in hand and he came into a winning team when he first came so maybe it was a coincidence."

"You have to concentrate on your own game, you just get on with it especially when you get a partner and you're settled into a run of games. It doesn't matter who it is,  you get to know there game and they get to know your game and you tend to work off each other."

"We've got some tough pre-season games coming up, but they are always tough.  It's about fitness and getting ready for the first game of the season.  It's no good winning all your pre-season games and then you struggle at the start of the season.  It's about testing yourself and getting your fitness levels up ready for the Brentford game.  Everyone wants to win every game, but for me, it's about getting ready for the first game of the season."

"Brentford will be a tough game, they are all tough games, but we are at home and we have to carry on with the home form that we finished off with last year.  It is a tough start, but we are looking forward to it."

"We get Brentford out of the way and then it's straight into the Burnley game.  I quite enjoy these cup games and we had a couple of good cup runs last year.  It's the Carling Cup and we were knocked out in the first round last year so it will be nice to have an early cup run.  The FA Cup and Johnstones Paint Trophy were enjoyable last year so hopefully we can do the same in the Carling Cup this year."

"The new faces have fitted in great, it's not the biggest squad and we are quite a tight bunch so they've fitted in well. The first week has been enjoyable, apart from tall the running, but it's been good."

"Everyone hates pre-season, but it's got to be done and we all come back smiling, so it must be good for us."
