"It was a good game, the second half was a bit of a grind, but I think we did enough in the first half to win the game, we played very well.In the end we thoroughly deserved the win."

"We came out of the box flying and it was great to get an early goal with Futch and his crazy long legs.  It was a really good goal to start with and then we played some really nice stuff after that and defended the ball really well.  It seemed to be easier to play against the wind than with the wind.  It was good to get the lead, and a good lead then all we had to do was hold on in the second half."

"The goals didn't really overly flatter us.  To go in at 3-0 at half time is game over really and they did come at us with their goal just after half time.  It was backs against the wall and we couldn't really get out but we dug deep and defended well."

"For my goal, I've missed chances like that before now, but it was a good little interlink on the half way line before Hursty played the ball to Mike Jones.  He could have whipped the ball across earlier as well, but I was nowhere near them, so he took an extra touch to give me the chance to get in there, it was a great cross with the left foot and you have do well to miss them.  It was great to get a good contact on the ball and see it go in."

"It's my first game and at the moment I think I am way off where I can be, so hopefully there is better things to come.  I had a full pre-season at Blackpool without playing any games, I did every training session there so I was fairly fit, but you can't do anything without playing."

"I came on on Tuesday night against Burnley and I was proper blowing, so it's nice to start a game and nice to get 80 minutes under my belt, nice to get a goal and nice to get a win. Things are going ok so far."

"There is some pressure on me because I've come here with a reputation, but we have two other good strikers here at the club.  We missed Andy Bishop on Saturday and it is a big win for us.  Bish should be back for the weekend so it gives the manager problems.  Hursty has done really well again, he works his socks off and when you have somebody up there with that, it rubs off on you and you have to work just as hard to help him out."

"It's Morecambe on Saturday and I know a couple of the lads there from Blackpool and they are decent players, it won't be easy.  There is no easy game in this division and I don't think it's going to get any easier.  We've had a good start, two good wins and we played well in the carling cup so I think there is plenty to look forward to."

"I had a couple of offers from other clubs, but the manager spoke very well and I did my background on him.  I know a few players that have worked with him before and they all spoke very highly of him.  The setup here at Bury seems to be going in the right direction and they are trying to do things with the resources that they have got, and they are doing it the right way.  I like that, plus the gaffer said that if I did come in I could maybe help a few of the kids along the way and I like that as well.  The most important thing to me though, was that I don't have to move my family.  I had offers' from League One clubs but everything just felt right about coming to Bury.  It's difficult to explain, but it just felt right and hopefully, come 46 games down the line we will see."

"I was offered a contract at Blackpool, but they wanted me to take a big pay cut.  I don't think I deserved that to be honest.  It went on and on, the manager said that they were going to sort it out.  I wasn't asking for the world, I was just asking for a little bit more to put me in line with where I thought I should be in the squad.  It just never materialised, the chairman never wanted to do it.  They thought at 33 I wasn't able to play that many games.  Hopefully I can prove a few people wrong and score a few goals."

"I wish them all the best and I have got some good friends there.It was disappointing to leave, I didn't want to leave, but that's football.  Bury were the last club to come in for me.I spoke to the manager on the Thursday, went to have a look around the ground on the Friday and we did the deal on the Saturday.  I wanted it sorted before the season started
