"Being top of the league is good for a morale boosting point of view for the players, the staff and the fans.  I don't know when this club was last top of the league, but I know the players have been going on about it in training and I don't think there is many, even the senior players, that have been top of the league like this so its always nice to be looking down on the pack."

"It's been nice here since the manager has come in, and he's obviously got a good group of players together.  With the form from last season, everyone was asking the question and if we could carry that form on into this season, we've shown that we can do."

"Now we are top, we want to stay there.  There's no negative talk from the players in training, its all positive.  We are looking at Saturday's game as a chance to go three points clear of Wycombe at the top, and nothing else."

"The Barnet game last weekend was very tough and it is a hard place to go and play at.  Barnet will start taking points of people and it was hard in the second half because we were running up hill.  In the first half, we should really have been out of sight by half time.  We had a few great opportunities from set pieces again and a few chances from open play but we didn't take them.  At half time we said for the first ten to fifteen minutes not to concede a goal, but obviously that didn't happen, but our form shows why we are top of the league."

"We are not just a side that can play well at home, we can grind out results away from home as well.  We showed great character to come back and go onto win the game.  When their goal went in, we had to look at each other on the pitch because there is only us that can sort it out at the back.  We knew that we would always get a chance.  Our attacking players have been doing very well this year and we know what we have been like from set pieces and every team will know that we are dangerous from them.  We all know that there is a goal in us, especially with the two Andy's up front."

"Wycombe is a different test than Barnet.I think there is more pressure on us to win the game.  When you are at home players and fans expect it, and now especially since the gaffer has come in and what we have turned Gigg Lane into and it's a bit of a fortress."

"Before Alan Knill came in, I don't know when we last won at home, I know it went on for ages.  We couldn't buy a win at home, but now - the last time we lost at home was Darlington, and that says a lot."

"The only little negative at the moment is clean sheets and again that's us defenders.  It's something that we talk about all the time.  We know that are only just around the corner and to be fair, we deserve one because we have been working as hard as anybody trying our best to keep the lads out and supplying the forward lads.  The strikers always get the headlines, but it will be nice for us at the back to get them now and then."

"I always ask myself a question when people ask me about where I'm playing.  Is a full back a defender or an attacker?  I see myself as an attacking full back and you are expected to do both parts well.  There are characteristics of the position that you have to be very good at.  You have to be good in a one on one situation, you've also got to get forward and get crosses into the box and supply goals for people."

"I've finished with the U21's now.  We did have a game against Germany a couple of months ago, but we all got a letter telling us that they were going to play the younger lads now so for me now, its just a case of playing the way I am and getting into the full international side, but there are some very good players in front of me at the moment."
