Danny wants a chance
"I'm really happy that the team is doing well, you can't ask for more. With the size of the squad that we have, it's good that we are getting the results that we deserve at the moment, but on a personal note - I've come here to play football and obviously that hasn't happened yet. We've had nine games and it's not enough for what I want to be doing. Players in my position have done really well, but I know that if I get the chance I will keep the shirt. At the moment, it's just a case of working hard, training even harder and when the chance comes along, I will take it."
"The gaffer is not going to change the side if we are winning like this, and why should he. I'm sat on the bench every week watching it, I'm happy for the team, but on a personal not I'm frustrated. If the team is winning, you can't argue about it."
"From the experience I had at Huddersfield and the way things were done there, this club is totally on the upwards trend from what I've seen. I'm totally happy to be a part of it, I'm enjoying my football again, and I'm enjoying training and the banter with the lads. It's everything to do with Bury Football Club and I'm so happy to be here."
"Sat on the bench last weekend at Aldershot, it was really good to watch and the first goal just said it all really. Five or six passes and it was straight in, they couldn't get near us. I don't know whether it was a bit of complacency creeping in with the scoreline. When they got there first goal, they just changed, but saying that, we still had a couple of chances towards the end with Elliott Bennett, Richie Baker and Glynn Hurst. We still had the chances when they got back to 3-3."
"There was a big crowd there as well and as it was such a small venue, they do get some noise there, but when Aldershot got their first goal, they totally changed and the crowd got right behind them."
"I'm used to boo's and the crowd getting on at the players from Huddersfield, but here and even from pre-season and from before a ball was kicked in training, there was a real feel of optimism here. It's gone on to show that its still here with nine games unbeaten. The crowd are really behind the team, we are doing really well and you can't argue with second place."
"For the Wycombe game, with me being sat on the bench, you look around and we noticed the bigger crowd, there were a few more people in the place. When I first came here the lads told me that the gates were not that high compared to the size of the stadium, but the noise and atmosphere for the Wycombe game was a lot better."
"Saturdays game will be tough, and more so because we are right up there at the top of the league. Teams will try harder against those at the top and we are going to find that is the case for most games, but up until now we have dealt with it and there is no saying that we can't continue with that. Exeter have just come up and they want to carry on impressing, they haven't had too bad a start themselves, but it's another chance for us to take three more points."
"I just want a chance; I'm absolutely itching to get on. I've told the gaffer that when ever he needs me, I will be ready. Once I do get in there, I will make it impossible for him to take me out. I don't drop any hints whilst I'm sat on the bench, if the gaffer turns round I tend to stick my head out a little bit, I also tend to do a lot of warm ups and stay out there just in case he needs me on."
"It is frustrating at times for me, but you can't argue with the team's performances. When I get the chance, I will take it, there's no shadow of a doubt about it. I'm here to prove how good a footballer I am. The gaffer obviously saw that in the trial that I had over pre-season. I did enough then to come through. I love the competition for places, the fact that Elliott Bennett has come in has made it harder for me. Results have gone against me, not the team. I cant argue about it and I am happy with life here but I am dying for the chance."
