"The season was exciting, hard and everything that you could want really apart from missing the trip to Wembley and promotion.  I've not used the word disappointing because I don't think it was disappointing."

"I first came to this club last February, I didn't think what has happened to this club this season could have ever happened at the time.  It's been a massive turn around since I've been here and it's not just because of me.  I've seen big changes in the aspirations of the club.  It's disappointing in that we haven't fulfilled the aspirations that we had, but the league table shows that we've been the fourth best team in the league, but I think we are the best team in the league.  It wasn't to be this year."

"My first game was a 5-1 defeat at home, it was pretty much as low as it could get but then it changed within a week when the gaffer came in.  That normally happens with a new manager.  Everything changes and we all try to do well for the new gaffer because obviously we want to be playing."

"Normally when a new gaffer comes the club seems to have a little turnaround then go back to normal, but Alan Knill has continued it here and he's been a major part to what this club has achieved over the last year."

"He is the reason why this club is moving forward, plain and simple - its Alan Knill.  When he first came in he told everyone what he wanted and what he expected.  He pointed out areas that needed improving.  He brought players such as Stephen Dawson in, he signed Michael Jones in - a player that I think has been brilliant this season - and it's only helped."

"For me personally, he's worked on my game, he's given me confidence.  Every time we go out he tells us what a good side we are and that we shouldn't fear anyone.  He's instilled the confidence into me and he's improved my game massively."

"Sunday was disappointing, we had enough chances to win three games and it should never have gone to extra time.  If we had just held out for the last three or four minutes then we would have booked our place at Wembley but it wasn't to be.  We did have enough chances, their keeper was man of the match so that says a lot and shows the dominance that we did have.  Shrewsbury will feel quite lucky with where they are - but that's football.  Sometimes you don't get the luck, sometimes you do and obviously Sunday wasn't our day."

"I go back to Wolves now and obviously they are a premier league club now.  If I can have any involvement in that squad in the premier league, then it will be massive for me.  Obviously that's what I want to do.  Right from being young I've wanted to play at the highest level that I possibly can."

"I've just had my best season in football and I think I can bring something to the party at Wolves, but its about what Mick McCarthy thinks now.  If the gaffer there doesn't think I can add anything to his squad then I will have to look to going out on loan again.  My main aim is to go back there and really give it a good try, get in and around the squad for the Premiership.  If I was ever to come back to League Two on loan, there's only one club I would want to go to."

"I've enjoyed it here; I've loved every minute of it here.  It's one of those places that you can't help smile about.  Everyone took to me from the first minute.  The gaffer has had confidence in me and I've played every game this season.  The fans have been good to me; the lads in the dressing room have been brilliant."

"I've got a few weeks now and I'm off on holiday with my girlfriend before we get back to another horrible pre-season."

"If Mick McCarthy asked me what I wanted to do, the answer will be that I want to play for Wolves in the Premier League, but if that's not possible then a loan move - we will see.  It's already been 16 months here as a loan player.  I want to be involved with Wolves, even just travelling with them or even just making a cup of tea for them - I'll do it.  It's about being involved, obviously I want more and I want to start a premier league game for Wolves.  If that's not to be, then we will see."

"You have to remember what's taken you to where you are and Bury Football Club has been a massive part in my career.  I'm not the finished article, but I've come on so much since I came here."
