"Summer has been ok for me, I went away with the lads straight after the season finished which is probably what I needed because I did have a bit of a bad time in the last game of the season and it did take me quite a while to get over it. Now we are back though fitness wise I'm feeling really good and the team is looking strong with the new signings that have come in. Hopefully we can progress further than we did last season."
"I had a lot of stick off my friends for the penalty miss, it's all banter and it does make you stronger. I'm only 21 and the lads were the same when we went away for a few days, they kept bringing it up but they did tell me that is makes you stronger. I always feel that I expect the best from myself. I didn't take the penalty because I miss them, I expected to score and obviously the keeper saved it. It was heartbreaking at the time and I just felt that I had let the fans, the gaffer and the team down. It was a killer."
"I've only watched it once since. I've got the DVD and sank when I watched it. I haven't watched it since - I don't need to. I know what happened and I know what went on, that's the end of it, it's just a memory now."
"I would say that the expectation in the dressing room is a lot stronger than it was last year. Everyone knows how we did last year and the gaffer has let a few players go since then and brought a few in plus we have some good trialists in as well. The team is looking stronger. Football is a long season and it's a funny game. I expect us to be up and around where we were last season and we are hoping for promotion."
"The gaffer has brought good quality in. I know all about Ryan Lowe and I've played against him a few times. He's a very experienced good footballer. I didn't really know much about Danny Carlton although I have seen clips of him, he's just an orthodox centre forward and he will just get stuck in. It's just what we needed and with Andy Bishop and Morrell it will be really competitive, everyone is fighting for places and its just what we need all over the team so hopefully they will all be in top form to get that first start. Bish will miss he start of the season but when he gets back in he will be fine, you can say what you like about him - he scores goals, he's a centre forward and he's what you need in a football team."
I always like to be at home for the first game of the season, especially if you get someone like Bournemouth. It's a long journey. The Rochdale games stick out from the fixture list and the Bradford game on Boxing Day should be the biggest game of the season. I'm glad we are at home for the first game and we can get the season started, get the crowd going as they were last season because towards the end of the season they were brilliant.
"Getting a result against West Brom will be good for the crowd. It will all depend on the team the put out; they are going to come here looking win the game, but we just have to see how we do. If the game goes to penalties - I'll take one definitely. I've already told Bish that the first penalty of the season is mine. That's me all over, I won't be scared to go and take one, its probably better for me that I do get it out of my system, but if it does happen - then without a doubt, I will take one."
"Pre-season is going very well, I did a lot of work over the summer and this season is a big season for me. Obviously Elliott Bennett has gone and he did very well for us and I wish him all the best. I hope he can cement a place in the Wolves team. I've done a lot of work over the summer hoping to be number one winger. Its all down to how the gaffer picks the team. He's brought a couple of good wingers in on trial. Simon Johnson is one of them, I live in that area and I remember him coming through at Leeds and he is a very good player, but no matter whom the gaffer brings in - I'm going to try and make it impossible for the gaffer to pick them."
"The gaffer signing his contract is good news for the dressing room; it says it all when other clubs are showing interest in him. Him signing here, how training has gone and how he works with the lads - all the lads respect him as a manager. That's the main thing any manager wants and that's respect from the dressing room. Last year showed that. I've worked under quite a few managers and he's probably the best one that I have worked under."
