It will be on the blooper DVD's

Posted on: Sun 15 Nov 2009

"That was a great game to play in and a great start for us.  We played really well in the first half and managed to get on the score sheet and set one up though I think I was unfortunate not to get a second, but I'm really pleased to be here and playing some football."

"I did all the hard work for what should have been my second, but that puddle in the goal mouth just killed me in the end.  It was unlucky because it would have been brilliant to go in at 3-2 at half time.  These things happen and hopefully we can build on that performance."

"Even at 2-0 up, it was never a dead game.  Notts County are a great side and they have plenty of great players but I thought we battled well and we matched them in all departments.  We were unlucky not to get the win."

"The conditions were really difficult to play in; the pitch was boggy with the rain.  You didn't know whether the ball as bouncing or skidding and it was difficult for the lads but I thought we all did well."

"That's one way of getting your fitness up, playing in a game like that and on a pitch like that.  For the last 25 minutes I could hardly run, but it's good.  I need my fitness back after the injury but it's good to be back and good to be back playing."

"I had an operation about three months ago, I've been back in training for the last couple of weeks so I'm here to get some match fitness.  I played a reserve game on Wednesday, and I was knackered after that one but overall I'm pleased with everything."

"I like to think I can do quite well in those situations for the goal, and hopefully I can score a few more goals for Bury whilst I am here.  I have a decent record with starts to goals, and hopefully I can do exactly the same thing for Bury.  For the assist, the lad showed me a line to take so I took it and pushed it back for Mozza to tap it in."

"Wayne Brown made three or four world class saves; he kept us in the game.  We all played out part and we probably deserved the draw at least.  I've never played in league two before, but I've spoken to a few people before I came here and I wanted to come to a club that plays football, and we showed that, even with the rain and the weather, we still tried to pass the ball about.  It's good for me because I'm not the type of player that is going to out jump a centre half."

"I know a little bit about the league, I like to follow all football and I do watch it on Saturday nights.  Shrewsbury will be another tough game, they are a good club and my first three games here and tough games, but every team that we play will be a tough test."

"I've only been here two days and I already know that it's a great dressing room.  The lads are great and they made me feel really welcome when I came in on Friday.  The training session yesterday was good and the game was even better."

"I've seen things like the goal that never was on those blooper programmes, I couldn't believe it, I thought it was in.  These things happen I suppose, it's just a shame.  I think its going to be on these blooper shows now.  I'd started to celebrate but I kept my eye on the ball and I couldn't believe it when it just stopped, even the Notts players thought it was in and they had stopped."
