I'm hoping to be involved on Tuesday

Posted on: Fri 27 Nov 2009

"Soccer AM called me 'Brain' during the crossbar challenge last week.I have no idea what that is all about, I didn't even see it on Saturday, but I got a phone call from them and they told me what had happened, but to be fair to them, they have invited me down, so seeing as we have the weekend off me and the wife are going down for a few days, have a look around the studios and hopefully kick a ball at Rockets backside."

"All they want me to do is to take a shot with a ball at his backside.I can do that now, I've been kicking balls for the last few days and the knee is fine.I've been practising with the lads but none of them wanted to bend over."

"The knee is fine and the rehab has been good, it took a lot longer than I thought, but its getting there now and hopefully I can take part in training on Sunday and Monday so that I can be available for selection on Tuesday night."

"I more or less knew straight away that I had done it, touch wood I've never had an injury like this before, it didn't feel right and the gaffer told me to not take a chance and get off.It doesn't look like I've been missed though and fair play to the lads, Andy Morrell and Danny Nardiello have done really well, its good and it keeps the lads on their toes. It's just what we need, we all know that we will have to fight for places and those two have done extremely well."

Getting into the side is going to be my problem now, but that's the way football is. I got the injury and it gave me the chance to sit back and see what goes on.It also puts some pressure on them, they look around and see me on the bench, they have to keep on their toes and scoring the goals, but I'll be quite happy as long as I get five minutes."

"They are both good lads and I know that they have been in the same position throughout their careers, they know what its all about and they are professional footballers, they've done extremely well since they came in."

"I'm coming back into a side that is sixth in the table and that's a big bonus for me, its all good that we are so far up the table and long may it continue. Its quite good for me to be looking down the table and not up the table, but I always knew that this is one of the reasons why I have come to this football club because I knew they would be on the up.There were plenty of other clubs I could have gone to, but I didn't feel the same about them.I've monitored bury last season, it's a good team, a good set of lads, good coaching staff and its all good."
