We are good enough for League One
"It's always nice to score, the lads did well at Bournemouth and we dug deep. Apart from the goal at the end, I thought we dictated all the game from start to finish. The second half was a bit scrappy and broken up but we deserved the three points and it puts us in a good position for Tuesday night against Bradford City."
"The last two or three weeks have been hard with the snow because we haven't trained a lot, but we dug deep. The performance from all the players was good and we have done really well. My goal was a lucky tap in but it was a great ball from Andy Morrell. It's not about the goals. It puts us in sixth position now and we are right up there for three home games with Bradford, Hereford and Rochdale."
"It's a tight league and we all know that. All credit to Bournemouth because they did put us under some pressure at the end but we deserved the win. They brought on big Fletch and he's always a handful with the long balls up to him, that what he's good at but Sodje, Futch and Brownie were brilliant, the whole team was. It's a big win for us."
"Brownie made a superb save in the first half, a crucial save. From the top with Ryan Lowe and Andy Morrell, who was feeling a groin a bit, to David Worrall who was sick, to the right backs and to brownie was superb so credit to all of them."
"It's two defeats in 17 but now we have a big period coming up. Six of the next eight games are at home so it's a big month for us. If we put in a performance like we did at Bournemouth then we will be ok."
"As for me and this contract business, I was disappointed with some of the stuff that has been said. I've never said that I wanted to leave Bury. I have an awful lot of time for the gaffer, the players and the fans. They all mean a lot to me. Don't get me wrong, I have said that I want to play higher and I can understand the fans frustrations. All players want to play higher but I've never said that I don't think Bury are good enough to go up. I believe we are good enough and that's why we are out there performing week in week out."
"I haven't signed the deal but that doesn't mean that I won't sign it in two months time. I was disappointed with some of the things that was said but that's over with now. I'm just carrying on and I'm delighted that the gaffer has kept me on as captain that meant a lot to me."
"If we keep playing like this I will be playing higher, that's the main thing. It's not about me. It's been tough for the last two weeks but we've still got some good training in at Carrington and the performance justified what we have been doing in the last two weeks in difficult conditions."
"Keep playing and keep performing and the future will take care of itself. I've an awful lot of time for Bury; they took me when nobody else looked like taking me. I was doubting myself as a player when Mansfield went down and out of the league. Even the fans have been great. I just want to keep playing and hopefully get us up to League One where I think we belong."
"The disappointment from last year still hurts but hopefully we can better that this year. I'm on good money at Bury, but this is not about the money. All this is about my ambition to play higher; it's a dream that I have got. If I am not good enough, then I am not good enough and I will hold my hands up. It's about getting the chance and I believe that we are good enough. If we keep performing like this then I believe we will be in league one next season."
