Loving it at Bury

Posted on: Wed 11 Aug 2010

'We didn't get what the performance deserved and you could see from the reaction at the end from the Sheffield Wednesday fans and the Bury fans.  It was a really good performance from our team, but it's no good saying that until we start putting the ball into the back of the net.  The only chance they had went in.  It's a tough game.  That game doesn't show the difference in quality.

I think Andy Bishop and Ryan Lowe are the best two players up front in the bottom division but on the night it just wasn't falling for us but we will go again on Saturday at Oxford.  If we continue to play like this then somebody will get a good hiding, but pitches in League Two are nothing like the one at Hillsborough.

The manager always re-iterates that we have to pass the football.  We are a very young team but you can see that everyone is very comfortable on the ball.  We just want to get it down and play and when you come up against quality teams like Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds, you do seem to get a lot more time on the ball than you do when you play teams like Port Vale.

We seem to do well against the good teams but at the end of the day we have lost a cup tie and we are all disappointed.  We were pretty solid at the back up to half time, I don't think they had a chance.  There goal was a good goal, the lad has gone through everyone, Cameron was a little unsighted but to be fair it was a good goal, and he used a good piece of skill.  We've been working on one of two things as a back four with Peter Sweeney and Schuey just sat in front, and we've got really good attacking players at the top end of the field.

We've lost two in a row now and that's disappointing, but we have got a really good game coming upo when we go down to Oxford.  It's their first home league game so it will be a good atmosphere.  It's a nice stadium and they do have a good pitch.  We will go there looking for a positive result

When you go away from home you have to shut the crowd up, take the sting out of the game and then hopefully get our passing game going and causing them a few problems.

I'm really enjoying it at Bury at the moment, and as soon as I met the manager I knew that this was the club to come to.He really knows what he is talking about and he wants to develop all the players at the football club. We've lost two in a row but people can see that we are going in the right direction.I think the fans enjoyed the game and I am really enjoying it at the moment.
