'The result is really disappointing. We got the three points last weekend and we wanted to try and build on that, but you have to look at the positives - we didn't get beat and we've got a point out of a difficult game.
We had to come from behind and we had to show some character. If there's one thing we had to do, that was to show the character and a bit of guts. We did that in the second half but we are disappointed that we didn't go out there and give them a good hiding. We've come of the back of some good displays and the three points last week at Oxford. We wanted to come home and do well again but obviously it wasn't to be and we are disappointed to have only taken a point.
The gaffer mentioned that we needed to put down a marker at home and to let teams know that it's going to be difficult to come to Gigg Lane and take points off us. We will keep trying to do that but in the mean time it's something we have to learn to do and hopefully we will succeed in it.
The shot for the goal should have gone in; Ben Futcher has just called me Ronnie Rosenthal. I'd done all the hard work but I was a little off balance. There are no excuses for that though; it should have been rolling into the back of the net and away celebrating a goal for myself, but that's what my teammates are there for and David Worrall was there at the right place at the right time and he's stroked it in. We've got a point. That's what happens in football and we've got to be big enough and man enough to accept it. I will move on and I will make sure it doesn't happen again.
I've said to the gaffer and to other people that I don't mind playing that role, but I would prefer to play centre forward. You could see in the last 20 minutes when Bish went off that I happened to be up there as the last man, that I was getting in and causing a little bit of havoc, that's what I like doing, but look - I will do anything to play in the team. I'm a team player and I like to score goals, if I have to set goals up then fine, even way I am happy to do that.
I've played that deeper role before at Crewe, and I just put the ball wherever those in front of me wanted it. I've played it and I don't mind it, I would prefer to play centre forward, but that's the way it is and I will just keep plugging away at it, keep working for the team and keep trying to get us three points.
Now its Barnet next week, they lost 7-0 today and that's not good for us. People will expect us to go there and win, that's not going to be the case. We are going to have to go there and be big, tough and strong. I'll tell you now; it's going to be a battle. It will be tough and we've got to go there and be better than what we were on Saturday. If we go out and perform like we did in the second half then I am sure we will come away with something.
Nobody here will be looking at Barnet's result today thinking it will be an easy game because they lost by seven goals, it won't be easy and I hope the fans don't think it will be easy. It will be tough and what ever players they bring into their side, they are going to want to stay in their team. The manager would probably change all eleven players if he can. It will be tough, they will be in our faces, and they won't let us play our football. It's up to us to win our battles and play our football and try to take something out of the game.
We are still a work in progress here, we are still a young team and we have got to learn from each other. The younger lads have got to learn of the older lads. We are all in this together and it won't just click overnight. It will gel and as you can see it in bits of the games. Once it flows and flows, then that's when we will see the best out of this team.
