"I'm feeling very dazed after that, what he did to me is what I do to people. He smashed my head - that's my job. We both went for the header, I got it clear, but he caught me as he went up and smashed me on the temple.
It wasn't the best way to celebrate my 500th game, but it was just another game. We just needed to win but we will take the draw. I tried to get on one or two at the other end to score, but it just didn't happen, it will do on another day.
It was a tough battle from start to finish, in the first half we were slacking in everything but in the second half we just stepped it up, we should have finished them off. They had the penalty and then later Cameron Belford has saved one with his legs when they were through. That was it, that's all they had so we are all disappointed. We had plenty of chances but we didn't take them.
The referee didn't give the penalty; it all came from the linesman.I think I will stick to saying 'no comment' on his performance. It's another point on where we want to be. Every point counts, but we do need to step our foot on the ground at home and tell teams that they can't come here and play. We have to be better at home but we all know that it will come.
The manager has told us that we need to make that statement, especially at home so that when people come to us, they will be afraid of coming to Gigg Lane, but we will do that. We worked our socks off in the second half to do that and the boys were unbelievable. There were signs that we are not going to allow that to happen.
The first goal is crucial and it gave them something to hang onto, we have to take whatever chance comes our way but out day will come. I need to talk to Ryan Lowe about his miss, I think he needs extra training, but seriously he did everything right, we know he's quick on the ball and we know he can put them away. He has a great touch and we know he can finish.
We did create plenty but not as much as we were expecting to create. We are blending well and we will come on and do well. We are getting there and it will come, in the next two or three weeks, we will be a dangerous side.
Andy Haworth has supplied two great passes for two goals now, he's an unbelievable talent and he will go to the top of the game. It didn't work for him at Blackburn, he's come down to us but he will be going back up again.
Next weekend will be the worst possible time for us to play them. They will want to prove that they are better than a 7-0 defeat. They will want to restore their pride but we are not afraid of anyone, we will go there and do our job.
When I started playing I just wanted to play at the highest level possible. Thankfully I did that with Nigeria. Playing 500 games is unbelievable. I put it down to being such a young lad. It's all about commitment. For me it's a passion and a commitment. You have to be hungry and healthy. It's not any harder for me, my fitness is always there.
Now I just want to keep playing for Bury and to get that promotion so that I can get another one. As for what stands out in the 500 games - every single one of them.'
