Shaker's Reserves ease past Seasiders
Report by George Cottam
Manager Alan Knill was at Stainton Park today to watch his reserve team run out deserved winners against Blackpool. The side, which included several members of Knill's 1st team squad, gave a steady performance to see off a poor Blackpool side.
One goal was enough to secure the win, although bury could have added three or four more. Baker's goal came mid way through the 1st half from a well placed corner from the right hand side. He rose highest in the box to neatly place his header in the bottom corner of the goal, despite the best efforts of the Blackpool 'keeper.
Blackpool rarely troubled Bury in the 2nd half and Danny Racchi was twice able to set up great opportunities after good crosses from the left after energetic runs from central midfield.
The side bounced back well from a 3-0 defeat away to Burnley and the confidence from this win will prove valuable as they next take on Manchester United Reserves in the Manchester Seniors cup
Strong performances form the likes of Ryan Cresswell, Steve Haslam and Richie Baker bodes well for Knill's team in the coming months proving that they have strength in depth which will help keep up the strong performances already seen at the start of the season
