Ramsbottom United 1 Bury 2

Even though this game was meant to be a friendly, it was a fiercely contested game throughout the evening. Bury trialists were amongst the starting XI. The 1st half consisted of many battles and crunching tackles. Ramsbottom broke down Burys possession, and took control of the game creating some good opportunities. Ramsbottom suffered and came closest after striking the crossbar mid way through the 1st half. At half-time it was stalemate 0-0 with no breakthrough.

Richie Barker's 2nd half substitiutions and the introduction of Bury's youth team players changed the dynamics of the game and made a very positive impact on the team.   Danny Hudson gave Bury the lead in the 71st minute, after good positioning and anticipation from a goalkeeping error produced the chance which he punished with a good left footed finish.

Ramsbottom hit back shortly with a brilliant looping header into the far corner giving Bury's goalkeeper helpless.

However, Bury had the last word of the evening, with Max Harrop's excellent skill and creative play to release a perfectly weighted pass to Liam Boswell, after a brilliant timed run, which he calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to round up a 2-1 victory.
