Profile: Paul Weller joined the Shakers in August 2009 as the Strategic Development for the new look Community Trust and quickly set about raising standards throughout his new department, to such an affect that the Shakers Community setup was awarded with the Silver award for excellence within three months of his arrival.

As the trust developed over the season, plans were put in place for the clubs entire youth setup to fall under the Community Trust setup. Such a move involved plenty of Paul's time and efforts and the switch was completed effortlessly.

As the new structure took shape, Paul became the General Manager for the Bury FC Community trust and now overlooks the entire Youth and Community setup here at Gigg Lane.

Brighton born Paul Weller began his career with Burnley ins 1993, after successfully making it through the Youth System at Turf Moor. He made his full league debut for the Clarets on 24 August 1996 in a 2-1 win over Walsall.

Over the next six years, Paul went onto make 287 appearances for Burnley and scored thirteen goals. His time at Turf Moor came to an end in September 2004 when he joined Rochdale on non-contract terms, making another five appearances. His time at Spotland though only lasted a month before injury effectively ended his career.

He returned to Turf Moor as the clubs Community Manager in September 2006 before moving to Gigg Lane in August 2009.
