About Us

Bury FC Community Trust is a stand alone independent organisation, but acknowledged as the official charity representing Bury Football Club within the community. This is acknowledged by both The English Football League Trust (EFLT) and The Premier League Charitable Fund (PLCF)

The Charity is an independent registered charity which delivers a number of positive and supporting activities within Bury and the surrounding community. We use football and sport to provide a range of opportunities to improve health and fitness, develop educational opportunities and to engage hard to reach and excluded communities.

Since becoming a registered charity in 2007, we now support over 150,000 engagements each year across many different programmes which support healthy lifestyles, reduce social isolation, improve academic achievement and employability, and reduce anti social behaviour. In 2012 we were voted The Football League North West Community Club of the year.

We could not do the work we do without our dedicated staff, trustees and multiple community partners.

Our Vision and Aims:
Our Vision - Increase Physical Activity For All.

We have an ongoing commitment to providing high quality sporting, fitness and education programmes for all, in a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Our aim is to encourage participation amongst all ages and abilities and to promote a healthy attitude for life. We aim to remain at the forefront of sporting development by ensuring professional coaching with that personal touch.

Our Aims – We arecommitted to:
Provide high quality sporting, fitness and education programmes for the whole community of Bury and surrounding areas.

Encourage high standards of behaviour both amongst our staff and the participants in all our sessions.

Support all participants to reach their goals to enhance their development and to provide them with every opportunity to excel in their journey.

Promote and maintain accessible habits in sport that will reduce social isolation via sport focused activities.

Build open and honest relationships with communication by creating a positive sprit throughout the organisation, through the development of accountability and respect for all.

And most of all to work as a TEAM in everything we do - Together Everyone Achieves More.

What We Do:
We are dedicated to our vision which is to ‘Increase Physical Activity For All’. To do this we work with our local community to make sure all we deliver is creating more opportunities for more people to become involved in sport and physical activity.

School Sports: We are committed to providing high quality P.E provision to local primary schools in partnership with The Premier League. Designed by sports specialists all Bury FC P.E/Maths/English/PHSE sessions promise to be delivered by well trained, educated staff. Each session works towards the guidelines set by the new national schools curriculum and the Premier League.

Specialist Projects: This department sits at the heart of our thinking. Within this department we deliver health and inclusion projects that are designed to help and improve the local community through sport and development of life skills. We deliver projects that meet the needs of the community specifically targeting those from minority backgrounds or those who are at a disadvantage.

Grassroots:  Our ethos is that football is for all, and our social objective is to engage young people no matter what gender, race or ability they represent. Through our official Grassroots club Bury FC Boys and Girls we can achieve this. The club is open to all and works to enhance a young persons ability to socialise positively, exercise effectively and develop transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and sportsmanship.
