Follow Up Statement: Transfer Embargo

10 December 2012

Club issues second statement regarding the transfer embargo

Following on from the brief statement issued earlier today, The Chairman and the Directors of Bury Football Club have been working tirelessly over the past number of weeks to bring in new investment in to the Football Club having financed the day to day running of the club over a number of years.

We are like a large number of other football clubs experiencing cash flow issues, and to that end the club have negotiated with the PFA a temporary short term loan which is to be repaid in mid-January 2013.

Until the loan has been repaid the club has been imposed with an embargo in registering new players. As we speak we cannot register any new players until the 1st January 2013 under league rules, the embargo will extend that block on signing new players until this loan is fully repaid to the PFA.  The board would like to assure all supporters that this is only a temporary issue.

Supporters can help to rectify this sooner if they attend our next home game on Friday 21st December 2012, where along with our ‘quid a kid’ offer, we are asking season ticket holders from all north west clubs to come along for just £10 (along with the production of your clubs season ticket).

Additionally Bury fans can help by taking up our limited one off offer of a season ticket for 2013/4 for £250.   Details of the season ticket offer have been posted to all current season ticket holders and further details will be available online later today

The manager, backroom staff and players have done a wonderful job in improving matters on the pitch we urge our great fans to come down and support the club in numbers.  We all value your continued support.
