Shakers suffer Leyton Orient defeat

Bury 0 Leyton Orient 2

A double strike for Kevin Lisbie saw Bury well beaten at home by Leyton Orient, after the home side repeatedly missed the target.

After seeing two goal line clearances in five minutes in the first half, the Shakers were looking lively before Lisbie finished coolly after 31 minutes.

He completed his double ten minutes into the second half, burying a corner at the near post to condemn Bury to another week in League One’s bottom four.

Bury’s first chance of note arrived on 17 minutes, as David Worrall floated a dangerous cross into the box, forcing Mathieu Baudry to head clear from just in front of the goal line.

The Shakers were back again on 21 minutes, as Matt Doherty went deep with a cross from the right, which was crying out for a tap in as it skimmed in front of goal. The ball fell to Zac Thompson and his strike forced another goal line clearance from Baudry.

GOAL! The visitors took the lead on 31 minutes with a cool finish from Kevin Lisbie – good build up play from David Mooney set Lisbie up in front of goal and despite pressure from Doherty, he slotted home past Trevor Carson.

Lisbie looked destined to claim his second of the afternoon on 47 minutes as he was set up in the same way as his first, but Carson spread himself in front of him to block the danger.

Andy Bishop forced a reaction save from Ryan Allsopp on 52 minutes as he connected with a cross at the near post. The resulting corner was curled in and cleared, but only as far as Efe Sodje, who fired just over.

GOAL! Orient extended their lead on 55 minutes, with a second goal for Lisbie, as he buried the ball at the near post following a corner from Lee Cook on the right.
