Bury chairman Brian Fenton has quashed rumours the club is suffering financial problems.
Last month Rangers were said to be considering a takeover of the League One club. And while Fenton insisted there had been no communication with the Scottish giants, he admitted they ‘wouldn’t turn away any realistic investors’.
There has since been speculation about more serious financial issues at Gigg Lane but Fenton has assured fans there is no cause for concern.
"Finances are always tight at Bury Football Club," he said. "It’s difficult at this time of year but we’re no different to any other football club.
"There are no games so there’s less money coming in, so at the moment we have to rely on the commercial side."
