The loss of stalwart supporter Paul Perry
It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Paul Perry - perhaps one of the clubs biggest supporters.
Sadly Paul's health had not been the best over recent years - not that it stopped him from watching the Shakers. Even with failing eye sight and badly ill - Paul would still be seen in his main stand front row seat.
On more than several occasions, Paul would discharge himself from hospital, against all medical advice, to get to Gigg Lane.
Perhaps his biggest contribution came when the club entered administration, with the club appealing for support, Paul decorated his car with everything he could lay his hands on, installed loud speakers on the roof and drive around the area drumming up more support for the club he loved.
A regular contributor to whatever the club did, Paul was an avid Golden Gamble user, buying upto £40 worth of tickets per game and on a few occasions he did win the golden gamble - his winnings went straight back to the club.
Paul sadly passed away this week and on behalf of everyone at Gigg Lane, and all those former managers and players that Paul loved so much, our sincere condolences go out to daughter Christine and the rest of the family.
Rest in peace Paul - a great shaker
