Shakers made squad addition

26 November 2012

Seb Carole signs for Bury on non-contract terms

Kevin Blackwell has signed Sebastian Carole on non-contract terms, and the French born winger goes straight into the squad for Saturdays FA Cup game with Southend United.

Born in Pontoise, France – 30 year old Seb Carole has put pen to paper on non-contract terms.  Seb has been on trial with the Shakers for a number of weeks now and has impressed Kevin Blackwell enough to earn this deal.

Seb started his career with AS Monaco in 2002, where he had been since a youngster.  His first step into English football came in February 2004 when he joined West Ham United on loan.  His time with the Hammers was short lived though and after making just one appearance during his three month stay, he returned to Monaco before moving to Ligue 2 side Chatearoux – where he made nine appearances, scoring one goal.  During his time with Monaco he took part in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup.  He was part of the Monaco side that reached the Champions League final in 2004, but was not involved in a 3-0 defeat against FC Porto.

He came back to the UK in August 2005, signing for Brighton & Hove Albion, a club he would rep-resent on three separate occasions.   He made 42 appearances during the 05/06 season as the Seagulls were relegated from the Championship.  He activated a release clause in his contract and was signed by Kevin Blackwell at Leeds United.

Seb made over 40 appearances for Leeds before the departure of Blackwell from Elland Road but found chances limited under Dennis Wise and was eventually released by Gary McAllister in September 2008 after a total of 52 games and three goals for Leeds.

Carole then spent time with Darlington, Tranmere Rovers and a further two stints with Brighton before he returned to France in Ligue 1 to join OGC Nice.  He came back to the UK and stepped into the non-league scene with Knaresborough Town before arriving at Gigg Lane once Kevin Blackwell had taken over the management hot seat.

Seb has also represented France at every international level upto Under 19 and in 2010, played for Martinique in the Didgicel Cup, held in the Caribbean,

Seb will take squad number 37 whilst with the Shakers.
