Set piece's continue to damage shakers season
Bury went another game without a league win after losing at home to their Lancashire rivals, Preston North End.
The Shakers had plenty of possession to speak of, but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal, with Mark Cullen and Lenell John-Lewis both missing the target.
Akpo Sodje and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff both netted for the visitors, resigning Bury to second-bottom spot in League One.
The visitors shocked the home side with an early chance for Keith Keane after 2 minutes. Shooting from the right of the box, he forced Trevor Carson to tip the ball over the bar.

Bury then had two chances in two minutes, as Mark Cullen paced forward one on one with Thorsten Stuckmann but saw the Preston keeper block him once he got into the box. A cross from the right then found Cullen’s head in front of goal, but his effort was saved by Stuckmann once more.
A shot from Peter Sweeney on 17 minutes proceeded to ping its way from the feet of Cansdell-Sherriff, to give the home side a corner.
GOAL! A dangerous corner from Scott Laird found Akpo Sodje at the far post and he made no mistake with his head to put the ball past Carson.
