Gaffer will put this right

27 December 2013

Tommy Miller on the Shakers 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe United

‘It feels like a win after that late come back, we kept going and obviously the sending off and them going down to ten men saw us getting a lot of the ball, but we are obviously delighted to see it going in at the end like that.

They got their second goal and heads seemed to drop.  We kicked it up a little and started to get crosses into their box with a few little half chances.  We just kept going and got there in the end.

They thought they had killed the game off and sat off, we suddenly had a lot of the ball.  We created a couple of half chances and kept going.  I’m delighted for Danny Nardiello to get that goal when he did; he got the chance and took it in the end.

There was a lot things in the first half that were not going right and we all stuck to it.  I’ve said this all season but there are teams that we have played against that are very average.  They work hard and are hardworking sides.  We’ve played teams at the top and there hasn’t been much in it, but the table doesn’t lie, we are down there for a reason and I am sure the new manager will put things right.

We are where we are and I am sure the manager has his own ideas of how he wants to play football.  He does want to play football which is perfect for me; I want the ball on the floor.  It’s no good being up in the air.  A lot of games this season have been like rugby and to be fair, I’ve hated it but in the last three games we have played well and played some good football.  We are just not getting the results.

We cannot keep on having to score three to win games, it seems as though teams are getting less chances to score goals, it’s been too easy to score against us but that’s happened all season, not just the last few games.  The manger has come in and looked at things and when January comes he will bring players in and there might be a few going out, who knows?  He will have his own idea on what needs to be done.

If he is getting the backing from the boardroom, which I am sure he will, then he will want to do it his way which is fair enough.  He’s managed at higher levels and he knows good players that he has come across and he will try to bring them to this club if he can.’
