Statement from Andy Bishop

9 July 2013

Striker pens a few words before leaving Gigg Lane

'Now my move to Wrexham has been completed, I’d like to thank the manager, his coaching staff and especially physio Tom Walsh for all their help and support over the years.

Over the last eight years, I’ve made a lot of friends at this club such as Peter Young, Joan & Michael Curtis, Lynne Kent in the commercial office, Shirley Linacre in the Social Club, Pat Holt from the Laundry and Gordon in the press office.

There have been plenty of ups and downs during my time at Bury, but I’ve never regretted one minute of my time here.  I’ve enjoyed every second of the last seven years and will remember everything about the place with great fondness.

After all the disappointment of last season, I am really pleased that the club has a future and is moving forward at what seems to be a very fast rate of knots.

My wife and kids have loved coming down to Gigg Lane to see the games, and even when injured, they have continued to show the support to me and the club over the years

Finally, to the fans - Without your support, I probably wouldn’t have been here this long.  The support I have had has been immense, even through the tough times with the injuries over the years, the fans have supported me through thick and thin and I cannot thank you enough for that

I wish everyone all the very best wishes for the future, and a successful season for the Shakers'
