Shakers get home tie for first game of the season

Bury’s League Two campaign will start with the visit of Chesterfield to Gigg Lane.  The Capital One Cup game with Crewe Alexandra at Gigg Lane comes three days later on Tuesday 06 August with the first away game of the season a trip to the Kassam Stadium and Oxford United.

 


The first derby game of the season will bring our good friends from Accrington Stanley to Gigg Lane on Sat 17 Aug.  Our renewal of acquaintances with Rochdale comes early with a trip to Spotland on Sat 07 September.  Rochdale visit Gigg Lane on Sat 08 March and the return game with Accrington on Sat Jan 25th.


Boxing Day will be spent at Gigg Lane with fellow relegated side Scunthorpe United visiting Bury looking for some festive cheer.  New Year’s Day has the Shakers on the road with a trip to the North East and Hartlepool United.


Easter weekend brings Plymouth Argyle up the M5 & M6 for a visit to Bury on Sat 19 April and Bury travelling to York City two days later for a game on Monday 21 April.


Newly promoted Mansfield Town visit Gigg Lane on 22 October with the return game at Field Mill on Tue 28 January, whilst Newport County make their first visit to Gigg Lane since 1987 on Sat 05 October, with Bury heading to South Wales on Tuesday 25 March.


The final home game of the season will see Mark Catlin arrive back at Gigg Lane with his Portsmouth side, followed a week later with a final game of the campaign against Morecambe at the Globe Arena.
