Assistant manager Peter Shirtliff steps down and leaves the Shakers

Assistant manager Peter Shirtliff has left the Shakers.  Peter came into the club on Monday to speak to chairman Stewart Day and stated his desire to leave the club.

The chairman has accepted Peter’s decision and we’d like to thank him for his efforts whilst with the club.

Peter joined the club as assistant to Richie barker in June 2011.  Following Barker’s decision to move to Crawley Town, Peter took the manager’s job on a caretaker basis at the start of last season and held the position until late September when Kevin Blackwell was appointed.  Peter did remain in the assistant manager role with Kevin Blackwell.

As usual, the club would like to place on record our thanks and very best wishes to Peter for his service to the club and for his future career in the game.

The chairman will be announcing a replacement for Peter later today.
