Bournemouth 4 Bury 1With the Shakers in the Yellow away strip, we got the game underway on a very cold South Coast afternoon.
Bury almost got off to the best start possible with a long ball from Trevor Carson, his clearance found Bishop who managed to steer the ball to Worrall, he took on three defenders before drilling the ball just wide of the Cherries post.
Trevor Carson was called into action after eight minutes when a Marc Pugh cross found Ritchie, the shot was well stopped by Carson, but moments later the home side went in front with Pittman, he took the ball around the Shakers keeper and slotted home from the edge of the area.

With the home side in charge of the game, the Shakers sat back to soak up the pressure from a side looking to move into second place in the table, though a rare Bury move forward on 16 minutes saw Skarz & Thompson flicking balls between each other, but the final ball into the box was just slightly too heavy for a stretching David Worrall.
Bournemouth created another half chance moments later when Grabban floated a good ball to the far post, Pittman took charge of the ball but mishit his shot across the box allowing Ebanks-Landell to clear.
Bury got back into the game on 24 minutes when another Craig Jones cross found Andy Bishop in the area, he rose and headed home from close range to give the Shakers a foothold in the game.

Bournemouth should have retaken the lead on 27 minutes when Grabban again burst through, with Trevor Carson looking hesitant in his area, the shot came over Carson, but Eastham managed to head the ball away for a corner. Matt Ritchie was the next to try from close range, but a good stop from Trevor Carson held the ball.
Bury were forced to make a change on 35 minutes when Craig Jones was replaced by Nicky Ajose, Jones leaving after taking a knock that had thus far caused him to drop to the ground twice.
Bournemouth continued to pressure the Shakers with Grabban, Ritchie and Arter causing problems, but the Shakers should have taken the lead on 40 minutes when Ajose & Worrall combined well to deliver the ball into the box, Bishop connected well and brought an excellent save from Allsopp at close range.
Bournemouth finished the first half with a corner following a clearance from Efe Sodje, Ritchie’s delivery saw Carson attempt to punch clear, but he failed to connect before Schumacher drilled the ball away from the Shakers box. Carson was called into action again moments later when he dived smartly to collect a driven free kick.

Bury worked the ball forward through Schumacher and Worrall soon after the restart, but a final ball into the box from Worrall was easily dealt with by the Cherries defence.
A Bournemouth corner on 55 minutes, following a Lewis Grabban cross that was cleared by Eastham, saw Ritchie’s delivery headed goalwards by Pittman, but his effort flew harmlessly wide of the target.
Bournemouth came forward again minutes later with Francis and Ritchie leading the Cherries charge, a ball into the box from Francis found a resolute Steven Schumacher who fired the cross high over his own bar for a home corner, when the delivery did come in, Sodje was on hand to head the ball clear, but the home side went back in front when the ball was delivered to Matt Richie, his crisp shot flew high into the top corner

Ritchie almost had another three minutes later when he connected with a good ball from Lewis Grabban, though this time his effort smacked the back of the stanchion at the side of the Shakers goal.
A Bury corner on 59 minutes saw Skarz deliver the ball into the box, but Pittman was on hand to drive the ball upto the half way line and away from danger. The Cherries should have had a third on the hour, a good ball into the box found Pitman in space, his first time volley somehow flew wide of Trevor Carson’s goal and away for a goal kick.
Trevor Carson kept the score line down on 64 minutes when former Shaker Marc Pugh drove at goal, but Carson was equal to the shot and blocked his effort. David Worrall continued to impress with a series of good balls into the box, the first fell too high for Ajose to reach and his second saw Bishop flagged offside as he touched the ball.
Johnson Clarke-Harris replaced Zac Thompson on 76 minutes, and moved to a 442 with a hope of getting back into the game.
Another Bournemouth move on 79 minutes saw the ball fall to Matt Ritchie just inside the Shakers box; his shot though was deflected out for a corner following a lunging block from Sodje, with the Shakers dealing with the corner easily.
Valery Mezague replaced Mark Carrington seconds later.
Bournemouth hit a third goal moments later when Harry Arter rifled a stunning goal from close range following a good ball from Pittman, the volley gave Carson no chance with the home side looking to have sealed the points.

A Bournemouth free kick, following a trip by Ebanks-Landell, saw Ritchie fire the ball at the Bury wall and deflect away for a corner, though when the delivery came, it was again well dealt with by the Shakers defence.
Bournemouth made it four in the dying minutes when Efe Sodje attempted to let the ball roll out of play. Eunan O’Kane had other ideas and managed to get the ball into the box where Matt Tubbs tapped home to kill the game off.
