Aged between 14-16 years old? This is your chance to ‘Train Like a Pro’
Lads between the ages of 14-16 across the region can get a taste of what life is like as a professional footballer, particularly on the training field as part of Bury FC Community Trust’s new project, ‘Train Like a Pro’.
During the Easter holidays, Gigg Lane will be opened up for the first event of this type to give young aspiring footballers a unique opportunity to develop their skills and fitness and have professional coaches cast their eye over the players, with a further opportunity for a number of players to be invited for trials with Bury FC’s Academy teams.
Train Like a Pro will take place from Monday 25th March – Thursday 28th March, between 9.30am -– 3pm each day.
Participants will receive up to three hours professional coaching per day from the club’s UEFA qualified Academy coaches. Alongside this, players will receive strength and conditioning training coupled with information and advice about diet and nutrition, the same advice which is given to club players. Fitness sessions will also be delivered, similar to the training regime the first team players are put through during pre-season.
Bury FC’s Academy Manager, Alan Moore said of the programme. “This is a great opportunity for aspiring players to get a flavour of what the day to day life of a footballer is like. The lads will be put through their paces and will receive expert advice on how to improve their game. Any of the players on the course who are up to the standard required, will also be invited into the relevant age group within the Academy for a trial”
The cost of the programme is £10 a day, with a discount available for anyone attending all four days. For more information please visit www.buryfccommunitytrust.co.uk or to book a place please contact 0844 487 5333. All participants will also receive a match ticket to Bury FC.
