Shakers retain eight players; all remaining players are released and are free to sign for other clubsWe can confirm that all players, whose contracts expire at the end of May, have been released from the club and are available to sign for other clubs. The club has retained the services of all eight players currently under contract.
Due to the uncertainty of the future, the club is unable to offer deals to any of the out of contract players.
All players that were on loan at Gigg Lane have returned to their parent clubs with our thanks and best wishes for their future careers, we would also like to publicly thank Blackpool FC, Peterborough United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United for allowing their players to develop at Gigg Lane.
Negotiations with new investors are at an advance stage. At the moment we are unable to announce a definite timescale, though we hope to be able to reveal more positive news within the coming days.
