Saturday’s game saw another successful ‘Kids Rule Gigg’ fun day organised by the club and the Community Trust.
Around 200 young people braved the windy conditions to take part in the activities, held in a closed off section of the car park at Gigg Lane before the match against Torquay United.
To help keep the kids entertained, there was face painting, go-carts, a balloon modellist, a bouncy castle and the Community Trust’s Speedball, all of which proved really popular with everyone that attended.
Toni Connolly, the Community Trust’s Sports Development Officer said, “Despite the windy conditions, It was brilliant to see so many kids head down to Gigg Lane on Saturday afternoon. We were really pleased that the rain held off in time for the 200 or so young people to take advantage of the fun and free activities before taking in the match. Hopefully days like this will help to create a new generation of Shakers’ fans who will come and support the team in the future in the sun, wind and rain.....”
The next Kids Rule Gigg day will take place before the home match against Northampton Town on the 14th December and as you would expect will have a Christmas theme to it.
