Half-Term Programme

16 October 2013

Community Trust's October half-term holiday programme announced

The Community Trust has now announced details of all its half term activities which will be running during the October school holidays.

For the first time, there will be five different holiday camps taking place which will run between the 28th October to the 1st November, ensuring that there is something for everyone.  This includes a brand new Junior Boot Camp which will give young people the chance to take part in fitness sessions, different games and assault courses, the types of activities undertaken by professional athletes, all with fun in mind.

Junior Boot Camp will take place at Playfootball.net, part of Bury College.  Alongside the usual Soccer Camp there will also be specific camps in Netball and Cricket, to help children to perfect and practice skills specific to these sports.  All sports camps are suitable for children between the age of 5-13 years whatever their ability level.

In addition to the camps taking place at PlayFootball.net, the Shakers Activity Camp will also be running at All Saints Primary School, which will provide children aged between 5-11 with a range of sporting opportunities including cheerleading, tri-golf, air track and streetdance.

All camps cost £12 per day, or £55 for the full week, although additional discounts are available for on-line bookings, visit www.buryfccommunitytrust.co.uk for more information.

All camps run from 9am to 3pm although the Soccer Camp and the Shakers Camp can take bookings for an extended day (from 8.30am to 5pm) to help families struggling with childcare during the school holidays.

In addition to the holiday camps, the Community Trust will also be putting on a Shakers Halloween Party during the school holidays.  This will be a spectacular spooky ghost filled party, with fancy dress for children a must.  Along with a competition for the best dressed ghost, witch or ghoul, there will also be food, drinks and a disco.

The party will take place at the Social Club at Gigg Lane on Wednesday 30th October between 4.30pm-6.30pm and costs £6, although all children booking onto one of the holiday camps for the full week will receive a free party ticket. Tickets are available by booking online at the Trust’s website or by calling 08444 875 333.
