I will if you will featuring Buggy Baby Boot camp and Matthew Pinsent
Bury FC Community Trust will be working with Bury Council over the next few months on the introduction of a number of new sessions under the new ‘I will if you will’ project.
‘I will if you will’ is an exciting project between Bury Council and Sport England which aims to increase the involvement of women and girls in sport and physical activity across Bury.
The project which received £2.5 million worth of Sport England funding will see the introduction of new fitness sessions, improvements to facilities and the training up of coaches over the next 12 months. Bury was selected to host this pilot project by Sport England who will use this work as a way of understanding the barriers that exist for women in participating in sport and the types of sessions that women want to take part in. The aim is to use the Bury experience and learning, to subsequently roll out the ‘I will if you will’ message across the country.
Bury FC Community Trust will be working with the ‘I will if you will’ project team at Bury Council to develop a number of new projects over the next few months. The first of these is an extension of the popular ‘Buggy Baby Boot Camp’ to three new venues across the borough.
Former Olympic gold medallist, Matthew Pinsent met up with some of the participants on a Buggy Baby Bootcamp recently when he visited Bury to film a BBC documentary charting the legacy of the London Olympics.
