The September players of the month...
One of the main benefits for playing for the Community Trust’s junior football club, Bury FC Youth is that the winners of the ‘Player of the Month’ awards get presented with their trophies on the pitch during half time of one of Bury FC’s home matches.
For the match against Morecambe last weekend, the four winners of the September players of the month awards were lucky enough to receive their trophies from the club Chairman, Stewart Day, before having a go at the half-time crossbar challenge.
Bury FC Youth currently have four teams, an Under 8s team, two teams at Under 9 level, the Shakers team and the Starkies team and one Under 11s team.
The September players of the month for each of the teams are,
Under 8's: Harry Turner
Under 9's (Shakers): Niall Grange
Under 9's (Starkies): Ellis Kirkham
Under 11's: Louis Partington
The Bury FC Youth teams have had some mixed results so far this season, but under the guidance of their new club manager, Craig Tomkins, they are hoping to move forward with some improved results.
The club is committed to developing grassroots football in Bury and being open and inclusive to everyone that wants to play football, regardless of ability. This club ethos was rewarded last season as they received a number of fair play awards from their league.
