A point is better than none

22 September 2013

Jordan Sinnott gives his views on the performance against Southend and looks forward to next week's game at Dagenham & Redbridge.

'It's disappointing that we haven't managed to take all three points against Southend but we are relieved to have nicked a point. We never want to lose a game so a point is better than nothing but when you look back at the game and what they offered it's disappointing that we didn't get the win.

We controlled the game up until their goal. It was a massive kick in the teeth for us that took a while for us to respond to. The manager has said that we need to kick start better if we fall behind to a goal; he wants more reaction from us.

It was important that we didn't get beat today after losing the last couple of games. The point from today could be a vital point for us come the end of the season.

I just want to play and put my mark on things here at Bury. I'm happy that I set up the goal today. I need to continue to work hard in training and then hopefully I'll get a few more starts and when I start I will give it my all. As a player you want to play as much as you can but you have to respect the manager's decision.

Whenever I get the ball I look to create things. I don't want to be a one dimensional player. I need to get around the pitch better and become stronger off the ball. I want to chip in with more goals and become a better all-round player.

I'm looking forward to next Saturday's game at Dagenham & Redbridge. We need to kick on from this result in training during the week so we can hopefully go down there and come away with all three points.

In training we all look sharp - we look like a great team, a team that should be up there in the league. We are a new squad who just need to gel together on the pitch and when we do I believe we'll be right up there.'
