Bury FC Community Trust supports Blue September

Members of the Community Trust's Nifty Fifty programme took on the youngsters from the Trust's after schools' clubs in the crossbar challenge on Saturday at Gigg Lane. The Nifty Fifty members were raising awareness of the Blue September campaign.

Nifty Fifty, which is a walking football session for men who are looking to get back into football as a way to stay fit and healthy.

Blue September is a national initiative aimed at raising awareness of male cancers, in the hope of increasing treatment and survival rates through early detection.

The crossbar challenge takes place on the pitch at every game, involving different junior clubs.  Each team has to see how many times they can hit the crossbar in a two minute period.  So far, the record to beat is five times, which was achieved by the young people attending the Trust's Soccer Camp at the first match of the season.
