Update from the Boardroom
This season has flashed in front of us and cannot believe it’s nearly the end of our first season in charge.
It has not been easy and there has been more curve balls thrown than at any Baseball Game on any level. However, it has been an amazing experience that we would never have missed. The enjoyment and pride totally outweighs any of the darker moments.
There is already plans being made for next season both on and off the pitch and we cannot wait.
We have had the pitch professionally surveyed and inspected and the feedback is not as we had hoped. Due to a lack of investment over a number of years, we now have to dig out and rebuild the structure of the soil and add new drains as well as add a new sprinkler system. The original budgeted sum has now increased by 300% but works have been contracted to start as soon as the season finishes. Our aim is that within 2 years we will have the best pitch outside the Championship.
Training facilities are now being discussed on a legal footing over a prospective new site that will house all our teams from U8 to the First team. This is an exciting opportunity that will only enhance the Club and its ability to attract better quality players at all age groups. We will update you as soon as we are legally allowed.
AGM – we are continually being targeted by a small section of the fan base that we have not held an AGM and this is for reasons that they have assumed is negative or suspicious. This is not correct and a detailed explanation will be made to the shareholders when the AGM can be called. There is an alleged historic legal issue that has been identified that needs to be rectified prior to an AGM in order for this to be added to the AGM Agenda and corrected. This is not detrimental to the future, but it is important that its put right now to protect the Club's shareholders. It's hoped that the AGM can be announced in April and held in May.
Pre-season Training camp – as some of you know, the pre-season training has been booked and the First team travel to Tenerife on the 20th July for a week of intensive training. It's hoped that we will be able to add a game as well open up specific training sessions to the fans. With this in mind we will be announcing packages over the next week or so to allow fans to buy tickets for any of the special events we can arrange. This could be a great way to have some sun and watch the lads start their 2014/2015 Campaign. This is a premiership standard facility recently used by Everton Football Club.
New Kits – we have a new home and away kit to be launched this summer and we will be holding a special event of this launch. Tickets will be made available for this event and allow pre ordering to take place.
Saying all this, the current season is still not over and we have 2 home games left. It's so important that we finish on a high note and as such ask that your amazing support is continued. Your support has been the difference this season and really boosted the lads when they needed it. For that the Board thank you!!
As the season draws to an end and the holidays kick in, you will be kept up to date with regular notes from me outlining the changes and direction we are taking. There will be some more Q and A sessions this summer and allow fans to ask the Board and Gaffer for an update for both on and off the pitch activities.
Once again, thanks for your support.
