1 Day to Go...

8 August 2014

1 day to go until the start of the 14/15 campaign....

With the start of the new season now less than just 24 hours away, there is a real buzz around the JD Stadium, with the excitement of the start of a new campaign, and the acquisition of our first piece of silverware for the season – the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.

Everyone at the Club hopes and believes that we can go on to mount a serious challenge for promotion to Sky Bet League One, what with the form that was displayed at the end of last season, the arrival of exciting, big name players over the summer; all combined with a successful pre-season, both on home soil and away in Tenerife.

We hope to get the 14/15 campaign off to a flying start with positive results against the likes of Cheltenham Town, Bolton Wanderers, Hartlepool United and recently promoted Luton Town.

A key part to a successful campaign is your support – we hope to see as many Shakers as possible down at the JD Stadium backing the boys as they push to become Sky Bet League Two Champions 2014/15. Everyone is welcome at the JD Stadium, everyone from lifelong season ticket holders to friends and family of supporters who are making their first visit – every ounce of support will count this season, so that we can continue to make the JD Stadium, Sky Bet League Two's fortress....

Tomorrow sees us face Cheltenham Town. The team will be looking for a repeat of last season's result, which saw us thump the Robins 4 – 1 at home. For those who are coming to the game, we highly recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes before kick – off so that you can catch a glimpse of the Lancashire FA Senior Trophy, that will be paraded around the pitch just before kick – off.

The start of the season will be greatly welcomed not just by the Chairman who spoke of his desire to bring "the glory days" back to the Shakers this season, but also by the likes of Ryan Lowe who said he 'cannot wait to kick – off the new campaign back at Bury and push for promotion.'

Now it's over to the lads to produce the football that we know they can to get us that important initial result, that will give everyone the confidence to strive for more. It's also over to you the fans, to come down with your fellow Shakers, family and friends and display your tremendous support and really get behind the lads....
