American born midfield player arrives at the JD on loan from Huddersfield Town
Described as versatile by Huddersfield Town, midfielder Duane Holmes has arrived at the JD Stadium in time to be named in the squad for today’s game with Accrington Stanley.
Operating in the middle of the park, Duane is a product of the Huddersfield Town academy system, coming through the ranks and is now a second year professional.
Duane was one of the key members of Huddersfield’s Under-18 squad during a successful 2012/13 season, netting an impressive 16 goals in 25 starts from midfield. Duane also has 25 appearances at Championship level with Huddersfield Town and Yeovil Town last season and was also voted the Terriers Young Player of the Season last year.
The club have managed to fight off various advances from League One clubs to secure his services on a youth loan until 5 January. Duane's ability to go past a man at pace meant that he was best utilised as a substitute in his time with Yeovil and the Huddersfield Town first team squad.
Duane will take squad number 28 during his time with the club.
