Shakers visit the Red Centre
Yesterday youngsters at the Red Centre in Bury, got a festive treat from members of the first team and Club's commercial staff.
Children at the Red Centre received a selection of boys and girls gifts which were kindly donated by Bury-based, toy company Sambro. These where delivered by Chris Hussey, Nathan Cameron, Pablo Mills and Tom Soares.
The centre which is run by charity Action for Children, deliver care for children with learning difficulties, disabilities, who are vulnerable, suffer from difficulties in their lives and also delivers support for the families.
Action for Children’s vision is that every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity to reach their potential. In doing this the centre act early so that children get the care and support needed. Action for Children helps more than 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers through 650 projects across the UK.
Commercial Account Manager, Daniel Bowerbank said, “It was great to see the interaction between the players and the children who were thrilled to receive the presents. The players and staff really enjoyed the visit, meeting the children and also receiving a guided tour around the Red Centre whilst learning all about how the charity is run and funded.”
The Club and players would like to say a big thank you to the Red Centre staff and children who were excellent and made us feel extremely welcome. We'd also like to say a big thank you to Sambro for donating the toys which put huge smiles on faces.
