Former Shaker passes away at 82
The club are saddened to hear about the death of our former player Bobby Collins.
Born in February 1932 in Glasgow, Bobby joined the Shakers in 1966 from Leeds United and played a total of 83 games for the club, scoring just seven goals.
Signed by manager Les Shannon, Bobby Collins arrived on a free transfer and became the first Bury player to be paid a three figure sum after signing a two year contract following his arrival from Leeds United.
A strong and hardworking midfielder, Bobby also represented Celtic, Everton, Leeds United and would leave Bury to join Greenock Morton and others. In total Bobby would player over 600 games and scored over 200 career goals.
Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the friends and family of Bobby
