Shakers complete Tenerife visit with seven goal rout
Bury ran out clear winners against CD Marino in their only friendly of the Tenerife trip on Friday evening.
In humid conditions, the Shakers beat the Spanish side 7-1 with Danny Nardiello grabbing a hat trick.
Bury opened the scoring in the 11th minute after being awarded a penalty for handball. Ryan Lowe took charge of penalty duties and sent the goalkeeper the wrong lead for his first goal in Bury colours since rejoining the club.
Rob Lainton was mainly a spectator in the first half but was forced into making a save at his near post with 16 minutes gone.
The Shakers doubled their lead in the 27th minute with Danny Nardiello getting his first of the night. Craig Jones cut in from the right wing and played a reverse ball through to the ex-Barnsley man. Nardiello took one touch to take it around the goalkeeper and then another to slot it into the net.
2-0 turned to 3-0 twelve minutes later as Nardiello added his 2nd of the game. Ryan Lowe capitalized on a poor pass from the goalkeeper and squared it to Nardiello for an easy finish.
The first half ended prematurely just after the 3rd goal after another bad challenge from CD Marino resulted in a scuffle on the far side. Both benches made their way over to the incident to calm it down and the referee ended the first half five minutes early.
