Good Luck Brassy

5 June 2014

Shakers' Assistant Manager takes part in London To Amsterdam Cycle Challenge from Friday

We'd all like to with Shakers’ Assistant Manager Chris Brass the very best of luck as he prepares to take on the London to Amsterdam Cycle Challenge to raise money for the Football League's charity partner Prostate Cancer UK.  Brassy will be starting his ride from Friday

He will be taking part in this gruelling challenge with fellow Football League associates. The ride is over the course of two-days, kicking off in East London early on Friday 6th June, from Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium. The riders will then be heading out of London through rural English countryside, and stopping off at a second ground, Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium, for refreshments.

After completing 90 miles to Harwich by dusk, the team will then board an overnight ferry to the Hook of Holland, with the journey being completed with an additional 65 miles to Ajax Amsterdam FC.

We would like to say a big thank you to Mark Noy and Andrew Robinson (pictured above with Chris Brass) from local bicycle store LeisureLakesBikes.com who have played a big part in the challenge by kindly donating a top of the range bespoke bike for Chris to complete the challenge on.

On behalf of Chris, we'd also like to thank all those that have donated thus far.
